Stand up your first AI teammate in a couple of minutes — a named agent with a role, a model, and the tools it's allowed to use.

What you'll use

The Agent wizard in AI Studio → Build → Agents. It walks you through persona, model, tools, and permissions in one flow and wires up everything behind the scenes.

Steps

  1. Go to AI Studio → Build → Agents and click New Agent.
  2. Give it a name and a short description of what it's for ("Researches competitors and writes briefs").
  3. Pick a model (e.g. a Claude model) and write — or choose — a persona: the system prompt that defines how it thinks and behaves. Starter templates give you a head start.
  4. Choose its tools: what it's allowed to do (search, read/write files, manage tasks, post to conversations, etc.). Memory tools are always on, so it can remember across runs.
  5. Save. The agent gets its own identity and is ready to chat, be @-mentioned, run on a schedule, or take part in a pipeline.

Result

A reusable AI teammate you can drop into conversations, projects, and orchestrations. Edit its persona or tools any time from its card — and give it a manager and escalation contacts in the Organization view so it knows who to ask when it's stuck.

Keep personas tight and specific. A clear, narrow role consistently beats a vague "do everything" prompt.
